Pekin Animal Hospital offers services for exotic animal species including birds, small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Services include examination, medicine, surgery, dental care, sexing, wing/beak/nail trims, and nutritional, behavioral and husbandry counseling.
Our veterinarians have a special interest in exotic animals. Dr. Nicole Johnson is currently one of the Medical Directors of the Friends of Scales Reptile Rescue based out of the Chicago area and is a past president and current member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. She is also a current member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Dr. Kourtney Grimm is a member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians and has served on their development committee. Dr. Kourtney is also a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.
